Sheila (aka Astrology’s Astrologer) and I had a great talk today on my That Psychic Girl Talk Show. We discussed birth charts, how she developed her skill and why she puts a positive slant on things. She also read a few birth charts during the show.
A birth chart, also called natal or soul chart, shows the positions of the stars at your time of birth in the place you were born in. Sheila believes this gives you your message for life.
Astrologers mostly study the power that far away celestial (cosmic) objects have on human lives. The placement of the sun, stars, moon and planets at the time of people’s birth, is said to form their personality, affect their relationships and predict their financial fortunes, among other divinations.
You probably most familiar with the zodiac, which is a form of astrology known as sun-sign astrology. Most of us have read our horoscopes in the local newspaper or even in magazines. Your zodiac sign is based on your date of birth and nothing more. Many astrologers will tell you that this form of astrology is so basic that it produces very limited results.
To produce a more accurate reading, astrologers check to see what sign each planet was in at the time of birth. The planets and signs combine with other elements, such as houses and angles, to form a complex and often very specific profile of a subject’s personality, life and future prospects. When Sheila agreed to be on my show she asked for date, time and place of birth so she could make a chart for me. She discussed what things on the chart meant and how I could use that information to my advantage.
Eastern cultures practice their own forms of astrology, among which Chinese, Vedic and Tibetan astrology are among the most well-known and Western Astrology has evolved from the combination of practices from ancient cultures. As a result, there is a considerable diversity of methods and philosophies. In my research, I found that the different practices of astrology may be categorized by end result that is intended, as I’ve shared below:
- Mundane Astrology – This is used to examine world events and make predictions about national affairs, wars and economies.
- Interrogatory Astrology – This branch can be further subdivided, but generally refers to astrology that seeks to make specific predictions or analyses about the subject’s objectives or events within the subject’s life.
- Natal Astrology – This is what most people think of when they think of astrology. Natal Astrology seeks to make predictions and analyses based on the date of a person’s birth. It’s based on the idea that everything that happens to something is expressed at the very beginning of that thing, sometimes known as the Law of Beginnings
Sheila shared a lot of information, and it’s going to take me many listens to understand everything she said. I hope you have fun listening.
