Astrology with Astrology’s Astrologer

Learn To Be Psychic, Psychic Experiences, astrology November 8th, 2009

Sheila (aka Astrology’s Astrologer) and I had a great talk today on my That Psychic Girl Talk Show. We discussed birth charts, how she developed her skill and why she puts a positive slant on things.  She also read a few birth charts during the show.

A birth chart, also called natal or soul chart, shows the positions of the stars at your time of birth in the place you were born in. Sheila believes this gives you your message for life.

Astrologers mostly study the power that far away celestial (cosmic) objects have on human lives. The placement of the sun, stars, moon and planets at the time of people’s birth, is said to form their personality, affect their relationships and predict their financial fortunes, among other divinations.

You probably most familiar with the zodiac, which is a form of astrology known as sun-sign astrology. Most of us have read our horoscopes in the local newspaper or even in magazines.  Your zodiac sign is based on your date of birth and nothing more. Many astrologers will tell you that this form of astrology is so basic that it produces very limited results.

To produce a more accurate reading, astrologers check to see what sign each planet was in at the time of birth. The planets and signs combine with other elements, such as houses and angles, to form a complex and often very specific profile of a subject’s personality, life and future prospects. When Sheila agreed to be on my show she asked for date, time and place of birth so she could make a chart for me. She discussed what things on the chart meant and how I could use that information to my advantage.

Eastern cultures practice their own forms of astrology, among which  Chinese, Vedic and Tibetan astrology are among the most well-known and Western Astrology has evolved from the combination of practices from ancient cultures.  As a result, there is a considerable diversity of methods and philosophies. In my research, I found that the different practices of astrology may be categorized by end result that is intended, as I’ve shared below:

  • Mundane Astrology – This is used to examine world events and make predictions about national affairs, wars and economies.
  • Interrogatory Astrology – This branch can be further subdivided, but generally refers to astrology that seeks to make specific predictions or analyses about the subject’s objectives or events within the subject’s life.
  • Natal Astrology – This is what most people think of when they think of astrology. Natal Astrology seeks to make predictions and analyses based on the date of a person’s birth. It’s based on the idea that everything that happens to something is expressed at the very beginning of that thing, sometimes known as the Law of Beginnings

Sheila shared a lot of information, and it’s going to take me many listens to understand everything she said.  I hope you have fun listening.

Astrology 101

Astrology 101:

Humans have had the desire to see into the future since ancient times. Fear of the unknown as well as a need to control ones fate has led to elaborate systems of fortune telling to spring up in most every culture known to man. One of the earliest known fortune telling method began with the stars and I am not referring to Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana. Astrology may be the most widely known system of early fortune telling.

Astrology is defined as a system in which knowledge of the apparent relative positions of celestial bodies and related details are held to be useful in understanding, interpreting and organizing information about personalities, human affairs and terrestrial matters. By using this information astrologers are able to lend insight into people’s lives as well as predict their future.

Astrologists generally study the relationship between positions of certain celestial bodies and how they may influence life on earth. They then use this information as an indicator to offer explainations about how specific moments in time relate to the character and personalities of the people born at that moment. Modern astrology asserts that every situation has several options and with the right insight we can find the best possible option available.

Historically astrologers were often serving functionary roles in early civilization. For example they often upheld positions of advisory to high ranking officials as well as positions such as priest and even judge. During this same era astrology and the current day scientific field of astronomy were indistinguishable. They both aimed to predict and conjure information from the stars. However, astronomy had separated itself from astrology by the 18th century. Eventually astronomy became distinguished as a scientific study as opposed astrological speculation.

Astrologers use scientific facts in the mapping of human consciousness and as keys to the understanding of experience. This is an interpretative process, which does not depend on accepting particular theories about how planets can affect us, or on whether they are a sort of synchronous clock ticking along with psychological and social factors on earth, or on some other causal process. The strength of astrology comes from the accumulated knowledge of centuries of research and observation, developed within a deeply intuitive understanding of the essential nature of the world, consciousness and the environment. Combined with accurate mathematical and scientific data, today’s astrologers can use this established knowledge in the generation of valuable psychological, economic, or predictive profiles.

Today astrology still exists despite scientist’s speculation of the field. Horoscopes are common and well known astrological phenomena. A horoscope is a map of your personality as dictated by the formation of the stars when you were born. The sun and moon and other planets affects everything from the pull of the ocean to how our lives will unfold. By understanding the field astrologists are able to explore their relationships with the world.
